Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Active Oregon Special Education Teacher License required
  • Proven experience or strong interest in working with students across a range of grade levels (elementary through high school)
  • Adaptability to work independently or with instructional assistants (varies by assignment)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusive education practices

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
  • Provide direct instruction to students in resource or self-contained classrooms, depending on assignment
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, instructional assistants, and related service providers
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data and best practices
  • Communicate effectively with families and participate in IEP meetings
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations

Assignments available:

  • K2 at an elementary school, fewer than 20 students, no instructional assistant assigned
  • K12 at a charter school, approximately 35 students, supported by 2 instructional assistants
  • Grades 712 at a middle/high school, approximately 35 students, supported by 2 instructional assistants
  • Grades 36 at an elementary school, approximately 25 students, supported by 1 instructional assistant
