Essential qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (active and in good standing)
- Experience working with children or adolescents in special education settings
- Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies based on the unique needs of each student
- Skill in collaborating with related service providers, families, and other educators
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation abilities
Daily role responsibilities:
- Develop and execute personalized lesson plans aligned with each students IEP
- Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere that encourages growth, participation, and independence
- Monitor and track student progress, regularly reporting results and collaborating on adjustments when needed
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student progress and challenges
- Support students both academically and behaviorally, adjusting techniques as new needs arise
- Engage in regular IEP meetings and actively contribute to educational planning
