Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering individualized instruction, collaborating with general education teachers and specialists, and developing education plans to meet each student's unique needs. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold a valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- Background working with middle school-aged students, particularly those with mild intellectual disabilities
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs
- Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to maintaining a positive classroom environment and collaborating effectively with families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with mild ID
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in accordance with district and state guidelines
- Partner with school staff to create inclusive educational experiences
- Maintain thorough documentation and track student progress
- Support and supervise instructional assistants as needed
- Communicate regularly with families to foster home-school connections
