Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Hold a valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license
• Background working with middle school-aged students, particularly those with mild intellectual disabilities
• Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs
• Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to maintaining a positive classroom environment and collaborating effectively with families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with mild ID
• Develop, implement, and update IEPs in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Partner with school staff to create inclusive educational experiences
• Maintain thorough documentation and track student progress
• Support and supervise instructional assistants as needed
• Communicate regularly with families to foster home-school connections
