Job Description

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Lexington, South Carolina, supporting students from elementary through high school levels. This contract position runs with a workweek of 35 to 40 hours. Assignments are available across various settings, including resource and self-contained classrooms serving students with learning disabilities and emotional disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with learning and emotional disabilities in elementary, middle, and high school settings.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in training and onboarding processes as required by the district.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license required.
  • Teaching certificate with an endorsement in Learning Disabilities or Multi-Categorical Special Education.
  • Experience working with students across elementary, middle, or high school age groups.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt instruction to individual needs.
