This contract position begins April 13 and runs through the end of the school year, offering you the chance to make a significant impact by teaching within a dedicated, collaborative environment. Located near Lexington, NC, you'll work in a high school adaptive classroom with 26 students, sharing responsibilities alongside two experienced colleagues.

Key Qualifications:

• Current North Carolina Adaptive Special Education license is required
• Experience teaching high school students in an adaptive, resource, or SPED setting
• Strong collaboration skills to co-teach and coordinate with fellow SPED teachers
• Ability to design and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse instructional needs
• Familiarity with virtual platforms for meetings/interviews (Interview will be held via Zoom)
• Excellent communication with students, parents, and support staff

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in a high school adaptive SPED classroom setting
• Share caseload management of 26 students with two other teachers, providing targeted academic and behavioral support
• Develop, implement, and monitor student IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Participate in IEP meetings, student review sessions, and parent communications as needed
• Uphold school onboarding and compliance processes, including signing district contracts and completing fingerprinting requirements
• Engage actively in a supportive school community committed to student success
