An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with expertise in Adaptive Special Education at the high school level. This contract position is set in a high school classroom environment within this North Carolina school district, running from mid-April through the end of the school year. The role offers a full-time schedule with 37.5 hours per week, focusing on delivering specialized instruction to a shared caseload of 26 students in an adaptive classroom setting.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Adaptive Special Education License is required.
- Experience working in high school adaptive special education classrooms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with co-teachers to manage a shared caseload.
- Strong skills in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to diverse student needs.
Location: This position is located in Mocksville, North Carolina, providing services within one school as part of the local school districts special education program.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver adaptive special education instruction to high school students.
- Collaborate closely with two additional teachers managing a shared caseload.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to support student learning and growth.
- Engage with district-level special education leadership via remote interview formats.
- Participate in any onboarding processes required by the district prior to starting.
