Job Description
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher position supporting young learners aged 3-4 years with identified disabilities, including autism and developmental delays. The role is onsite in Lewes, DE, with multiple openings available to accommodate various caseloads based on candidate experience and availability. The position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year and requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with special needs in an early childhood setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to monitor and assess progress
- Maintain detailed documentation and communicate regularly with families and school staff
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes growth and learning
Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Special Education Teacher license is required
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with autism and developmental delays preferred
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, teaching techniques, and behavioral interventions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional team
