Job Description

This full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is based in the Kansas City, KS area, specifically at an Early Childhood Center focused on Pre-K students. The position runs from ASAP through May 22, 2026, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. Ideal candidates have experience working with young learners in early childhood special education settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the developmental needs of Pre-K students with disabilities
  • Manage a caseload of 8 to 18 students, ensuring individualized education programs (IEPs) are effectively implemented
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including parents, therapists, and classroom teachers to support student progress
  • Monitor and document student growth and adapt teaching strategies as needed
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification or licensure in Special Education appropriate for early childhood settings
  • Proven experience working with young children with special needs, preferably in a public school environment
  • Strong understanding of individualized instruction techniques and behavioral strategies
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate with families and school staff
