Seeking a Licensed Special Education Teacher for a K-12 school in Lecompton, KS. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in both resource room and self-contained classroom settings. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and is eager to contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in K-12 grade levels within resource room and self-contained environments.
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to support student success.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to the development and modification of IEP goals tailored to each students unique needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to maximize engagement and growth.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current Kansas special education teaching license required.
- Experience in Kansas schools is preferred but not required.
- K-12 teaching experience, especially in special education, is a plus.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Skilled in creating, modifying, and implementing IEP goals.
- Recent graduates with appropriate licensure are encouraged to apply.
