Make a difference every day by supporting 7th and 8th graders in an emotional support classroom this school year. This contract position for a Special Education Teacher is tailored for compassionate educators passionate about empowering middle school students to reach their full potential. You'll work closely with a group of 13 students, providing adaptive instruction and personalized support in a nurturing environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching certification, with Special Education (SE) credentials required
- Experience supporting middle school students, especially within emotional support settings, is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of and commitment to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Effective collaborative skills for working with paraprofessionals, families, and related service providers
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths and needs
- Deliver daily instruction across subject areas, Monday through Friday (7:30am to 3:10pm)
- Maintain accurate records, monitor student progress, and update plans accordingly
- Collaborate with school teams, parents, and specialists to support holistic student development
- Utilize research-based strategies and interventions appropriate for emotional support classrooms
