Job Description
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Leadville, CO, focused on supporting elementary students with high needs. This contract role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic and social development of students requiring specialized instructional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students unique learning needs within the elementary special education caseload
- Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff to ensure a supportive learning environment
- Manage classroom behavior and provide necessary accommodations to support student success
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with high needs
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional techniques, and assessment procedures
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
