Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Prior experience working with students with various learning, emotional, or behavioral needs
  • Strong knowledge of IEP process, development, and implementation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum for diverse learners
  • Organizational skills for maintaining thorough documentation and meeting timelines

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction based on student IEPs and classroom goals
  • Develop lesson plans, activities, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards
  • Facilitate positive, supportive classroom environments fostering both academic and personal growth
  • Monitor student progress, adjust strategies, and maintain up-to-date records and reports
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt instructional approaches
  • Communicate regularly with families on student progress and participate in meetings as needed
  • Uphold compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
