Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
- Experience working with K-12 students with a range of learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to individualize instruction and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Positive, patient, and flexible approach to student support
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special needs, using research-based strategies
- Develop and implement IEPs that address each students unique strengths and challenges
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure coordinated care and effective instruction
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and growth for all students
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
