Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
  • Experience working with K-12 students with a range of learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges
  • Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to individualize instruction and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
  • Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Positive, patient, and flexible approach to student support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special needs, using research-based strategies
  • Develop and implement IEPs that address each students unique strengths and challenges
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure coordinated care and effective instruction
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and growth for all students
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
