Desired Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- Experience working in elementary settings, particularly with behavioral needs
- Ability to create individualized education plans and adapt instruction for diverse learners
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with paraprofessionals and school teams
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction to students with behavioral and emotional disabilities in a self-contained classroom
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals (2 assigned), ensuring high-quality student support and safety
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Track and report student progress; communicate regularly with families and team members
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain compliance with state guidelines
- Engage in a supportive onboarding process tailored to enhance your teaching success
