Job Description

Bring your expertise in special education to a rewarding contract role supporting extended school year (ESY) programs in the Bucks County area. This position is designed for passionate, credentialed educators ready to make a positive impact on students requiring specialized instruction. As part of an ESY team, youll play a key role in fostering a supportive and effective learning environment for children with varying needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching certification (or active Emergency Permit with documented enrollment in a certification program)
  • Able to provide proof of active licensure or permit
  • Minimum one-year gap since last working with this district through another agency
  • Experience with moderate to severe special needs populations, including behavioral support
  • Comfortable with full ESY commitment (June 23, 2025 July 30, 2026; Monday Thursday)
  • Reliable transportation; must live within a 35-minute commute of the selected ESY school site
  • Prepared to attend teacher orientation and setup (June 23-25, 2026) and to commit to all student instructional days (June 29 July 30, 2026)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specially-designed instruction in accordance with student IEPs
  • Implement behavioral and classroom management strategies
  • Collaborate with staff to develop individualized learning activities
  • Maintain clear, ongoing communication with families and teams
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet student-specific needs
  • Track progress and complete required documentation
