This full-time Special Education Teacher position is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high school Autism Support Classroom. Located onsite in Lansdale, PA, this contract role offers a structured environment where you can apply your expertise in special education to support students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students on the autism spectrum within a high school setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to promote academic and social development
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administration
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching License required
- Emergency certification holders with strong special education experience will be considered
- Prior experience working with high school students, preferably in an autism support classroom
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families and staff
