Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Successful experience or a strong interest in working with students with special needs
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Commitment to adapting instruction based on student strengths and needs
- Strong organizational and classroom management abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Create and modify lesson plans to address unique learning requirements
- Provide direct instruction to students individually or in small groups
- Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and progress monitoring
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation from all students
- Track and report student progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay up-to-date with best practices in special education
