Job Description

Make a meaningful impact shaping young learners futures in a collaborative early childhood environment. This long-term substitute assignment focuses on supporting a small group of pre-K students with special needs. The role is based in one building for consistent, community-oriented work and runs from late August through mid-November.

Key Qualifications:

  • Dual certification required in Early Childhood Education and Special Education
  • Valid teaching license for the state of Ohio
  • Experience working with pre-K or early childhood populations, ideally in special education settings
  • Solid understanding of IEP processes, individualized supports, and inclusive educational practices
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with staff and families
  • Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and behavior supports

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and small group instruction tailored to 10-15 pre-K students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to implement IEPs and ensure student progress
  • Monitor and document student growth, adapting instruction as needed
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Communicate regularly with families and colleagues to share goals, celebrate successes, and address challenges
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and participate in meetings as required

This contract role offers steady weekly hours within a dedicated school setting. Youll have the opportunity to develop close relationships with students and staff, and to play a critical role in early intervention during a key period in childrens development.
