Take the next step in your interpreting career by supporting K-12 students and educational staff in a full-time contract role as an Onsite Sign Language Interpreter. In this position, youll facilitate clear, effective communication between Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing students and the school community, making a lasting impact in an engaging educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or above required
- Current, valid Educational Interpreter License from the GaPSC
- Experience providing sign language interpretation in school settings (special or general education)
- Strong receptive and expressive American Sign Language (ASL) skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and students from kindergarten through high school
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom lessons, instructions, and conversations for students using sign language
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers during instructional and extracurricular activities
- Support special education and general education environments as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in an educational setting
- Adapt interpreting methods to suit the needs of students across various grade levels
- Provide feedback and collaborate with the educational team to ensure student success
This role follows a Monday through Friday, full-time schedule, with your expertise benefitting a wide range of students, educators, and families.
