Special Education Teacher (K6 Elementary)
Location: La Vista, Nebraska (In-Person)
Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a K6 setting in the La Vista area. This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys working in inclusive environments and partnering closely with general education staff to support student success.

Position Overview

This position supports students with varying needs in a resource/inclusion modelthere are no self-contained classrooms. Students receive services both in small group settings and within general education classrooms, creating a highly collaborative and student-centered environment.

Classroom & Support Structure
K6 elementary caseload
1012 students per classroom setting
Multiple paraprofessionals assigned to each classroom
Mix of push-in (general education) and pull-out support
Focus on differentiated instruction and inclusive practices


Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals
Support students within both general education and small group settings
Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
Track student progress and maintain compliant documentation
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment


Qualifications
Active Nebraska Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
Experience working with elementary students in special education settings
Familiarity with inclusion models and push-in/pull-out services
Strong collaboration and classroom management skills
Commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners
