Job Description

This onsite contract opportunity runs from August 13, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with openings spanning both elementary and middle school resource classrooms. With several positions available, you can help shape an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere for students who thrive with individualized support.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid state licensure for Special Education (SPED) or eligible for certification in Nebraska
  • Experience working in elementary and/or middle school settings preferred
  • Strong commitment to collaboration with colleagues, support staff, and families
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of current best practices in special education, including IEP development and implementation
  • Ability to engage and modify instruction for diverse learners
  • Dedicated to fostering independence, growth, and self-esteem in students

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated instruction within resource classroom settings (elementary or middle school)
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with district and federal guidelines
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to address changing needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with all requirements
  • Communicate with families regarding student progress and support strategies
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
