Job Description

A rewarding opportunity awaits educators passionate about making a meaningful difference in early childhood special education. A contract position is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher to support a Pre-K program. This full-time role (37.5 hours/week) is scheduled from August 4th, 2026 through May 21st, 2027.

In this setting, you'll work with children ages 3-5 who present various needs. Many students are non-verbal or have limited verbal abilities, and some require assistance with toilet training, diapering, and feeding. The role calls for an educator who is caring, patient, and adaptable to respond to behavioral and developmental challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Teaching Certificate
  • Endorsements in both Special and General Education, covering Pre-K age groups
  • Previous experience with early childhood or preschool special education preferred
  • Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Comfortable supporting toileting, feeding, and communication needs
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to Pre-K students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • Create and implement tailored lesson plans to foster growth and engagement
  • Assist students with toileting, diapering, and feeding as part of daily support
  • Collect data and provide input for IEPs, closely tracking student progress
  • Collaborate with families, therapists, and other team members to ensure holistic student support
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that meets the unique needs of each child
