Working closely 1:1 with a middle school student exhibiting intensive behavioral needs, youll play a vital role in their academic journey and personal growth. Additional classroom support is provided by a dedicated para, ensuring a collaborative and safe learning atmosphere.
Qualifications and Desired Background:
- Current and valid GA Special Education teaching licensure (please specify the exact certification held)
- Solid experience working with students exhibiting severe behavioral challenges, especially at the middle school level
- Confidence in supporting and de-escalating aggressive behaviors, utilizing effective strategies for positive outcomes
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit, able to partner with paras and school staff
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning and tailoring instructional approaches for individual needs
In this role, daily responsibilities include:
- Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions
- Creating structured, consistent routines to positively guide academic and behavioral progress
- Collaborating closely with the paraeducator and other professionals to ensure student safety and engagement
- Monitoring and documenting student performance, adapting methods as needed
- Maintaining open communication with guardians and interdisciplinary teams
