Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Washington
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working with students with learning differences, disabilities, or behavioral challenges
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs and modify curriculum as needed
Responsibilities:
- Design and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Provide direct instruction and support services to students with special needs
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and learning
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress
- Adhere to all state and federal guidelines related to special education
