Job Description

This contract opportunity allows you to dedicate your skills and compassion by supporting a student through a full-time, one-on-one role in a school environment. With a Monday through Friday schedule aligned with the school calendar, youll provide personalized instruction and care, making each day count.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to a student in a 1:1 special education setting, addressing specific learning and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans aligned with educational goals
  • Monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with other educators, families, and school staff to ensure a supportive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records, including progress notes and required documentation
  • Uphold and advocate for the diverse needs and rights of students with disabilities

Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education certification REQUIRED (must be current, not expired or under renewal)
  • Prior special education teaching experience, preferably in a 1:1 setting
  • Able to pass district-required drug screening and fingerprinting in addition to standard credentialing procedures
  • Readiness to start as soon as possible and work through May 22, 2026
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
