Job Description
This contract position is for a full-time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in Kansas City, KS, working with pre-K children. The role is based at a priority Early Childhood Center within the Kansas City area and requires a caseload size ranging from 8 to 18 students. The schedule encompasses 37.5 hours per week, with the contract running from ASAP through May 22, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of young children with special education requirements.
- Collaborate with parents, school staff, and related service providers to support student progress.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to foster development in communication, social skills, motor skills, and cognitive abilities.
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and participate in regular team meetings.
- Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Qualifications:
- Experience in early childhood special education.
- Ability to manage a caseload of 8 to 18 pre-K students.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to special education.
- Valid teaching certification in special education preferred.
