We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide essential support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs. This contract opportunity runs from now through June 11, 2027, and offers the chance to build strong connections and see student growth throughout multiple school years.
As a full-time educator, you will work Monday through Friday in an engaging, collaborative environment. Your expertise will help shape individualized education plans and meaningful progress for elementary-age learners with various disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher Certification (required)
- Experience (or strong interest) in working with elementary students with diverse disabilities
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate effectively with families
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction based on student IEPs, adapting methods and materials
- Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes
- Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and challenges
- Maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines
