Take on a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students in an engaging, in-person environment for the upcoming school years. This full-time opportunity spans from ASAP through May 28, 2027, offering stability and the chance to make a lasting impact on students lives. Two openings are available for dynamic educators ready to begin as soon as possible.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Alaska teaching license with all required certifications
- Type C certification for Special Education (proof required via copies or certificate numbers)
- Experience working with students in a Special Education setting
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials for individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Willingness to work in-person; remote/virtual opportunities are not available for this position
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and adjust individualized education programs in collaboration with other staff
- Deliver engaging, effective instruction tailored to students unique learning needs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and progress monitoring
- Support inclusion and work closely with classroom teachers, aides, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school events as required
- Foster a positive, respectful classroom dynamic, promoting student independence and growth
