Embark on a rewarding full-time contract opportunity supporting students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Life Skills. This position will play a key role across multiple school sites within the greater Eugene area for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning late August and concluding in early June. Five positions are available for passionate educators who thrive in adapting to dynamic environments.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- Active and valid Oregon Special Education Teacher license (SPED)
- Experience or interest in Life Skills programs within a school setting
- Flexibility regarding assignment location or specific classroom setting (final placements are determined annually)
- Strong communication skills, collaborative spirit, and a student-centered approach
- Comfort and commitment to on-site work exclusively
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with Life Skills curriculum for students with varied needs.
- Adapt instructional materials and strategies to accommodate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families to deliver holistic student support.
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and robust documentation in adherence to school and district standards.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school initiatives as needed.
