Job Description

In this role, you will serve approximately 32 elementary learners, with varying degrees of support needssome spending most of the school day in a specialized setting, while others join for specific services. Paraprofessionals are available to enhance classroom support, giving you the resources to focus on personalized educational strategies. The position is full-time, offering 37.5 hours per week through the end of the school year, with the possibility for renewal based on performance and district needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs, tailored to individual student goals
  • Adapt curriculum and modify lessons to suit diverse learning styles
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Manage classroom behavior and foster a positive, inclusive environment
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress effectively
  • Utilize paraprofessional support to maximize student success

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
  • Experience in an elementary setting highly valued
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of accommodations and best practices for mild to moderate disabilities
