Special Education Teacher - Early Childhood

Location: Joliet, IL area 

Term: 2026/2027 Full School Year 

Status: Full-Time Contract (35 Hours/Week)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Special Education Teacher for a full-year contract assignment at a specialized learning center in the Joliet area. This position is central to a comprehensive Autism Program, with a specific focus on supporting Communication and Adaptive Behavior for early childhood students.

As a contract professional in this program, you will work in a supportive, resource-rich environment designed to help young learners on the Autism Spectrum develop foundational skills in a specialized classroom setting.

Key Position Details

  • Employment Type: W2 Contract

  • Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 3:30 PM

  • Caseload: Early Childhood students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Program Focus: Applied communication and adaptive behavior strategies

  • Compensation: Competitive hourly pay based on experience

Requirements

To be considered for this contract position, candidates MUST possess:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

  • Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS 1) endorsement

  • Previous experience or a strong clinical interest in working with early childhood populations and students with ASD

Candidates who are not fully licensed will NOT be considered.
