Job Description

This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with experience working with young learners on the Autism Spectrum. Located in Joliet, IL, this contract position for the 2026-2027 school year offers a focused role providing support and instruction to early childhood students.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each child within the caseload. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ongoing progress monitoring, and active communication with families to foster a supportive learning environment. Candidates will work approximately 35 hours per week, directly impacting the growth and development of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Professional Educators License (PEL) for Illinois schools issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
  • Experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in early childhood settings
  • Ability to create and adapt curriculum based on students needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
