Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher license for the appropriate grade levels
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and assessment
- Demonstrated ability to create a positive, structured classroom environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and families
- Previous experience in an elementary special education classroom preferred
What Youll Do:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to elementary-age students with varying needs
- Develop, adapt, and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate progress and strategies clearly with parents and staff
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and compliance with state and district regulations
