What you bring:
- Current and active New Jersey special education teaching license (required)
- Experience with elementary, middle, or high school students in a special education setting
- Flexibility and willingness to work with various caseloads
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with diverse teams
- Passion for differentiated instruction and inclusive education
- Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement effective interventions
- Positive attitude and a growth mindset
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet each students needs
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a supportive classroom atmosphere
- Assess student progress, keeping detailed records and communicating results to families and staff
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to goal setting, progress monitoring, and compliance documentation
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Provide support to students emotionally, socially, and academically
