Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a lead special education instructor for a middle school Therapeutic Learning Center (TLC) program in the Jefferson, MA area. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teacher license (required)
  • Experience teaching at the middle school level is preferred
  • Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Ability to lead and coordinate support services for students with varying learning abilities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Previous experience in a TLC or similar therapeutic program is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead special education teacher for the TLC program
  • Develop and deliver targeted instruction that meets the needs of a varied caseload
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Create a supportive and structured classroom atmosphere
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and progress
  • Guide and mentor paraprofessionals assigned to the program
