As a dedicated Special Education Teacher, youll have the rewarding opportunity to support and guide students toward academic, emotional, and personal growth. This contract role places you in a collaborative environment near Jacksonville, FL, working closely with students, families, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure individualized learning and positive outcomes.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field required; Masters degree preferred
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, families, and staff
- Familiarity with the latest instructional methods and adaptive technology
- Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, adapt, and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to each students unique needs
- Evaluate student progress and modify instruction as necessary
- Maintain accurate records for evaluations, IEPs, and regular progress reports
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Foster a positive, nurturing setting that encourages student success and independence
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent/teacher conferences, and ongoing professional development
- Promote social and emotional development within the classroom setting
