Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting elementary students in a self-contained ESE (Exceptional Student Education) classroom near Jacksonville, FL. This on-site position begins August 10, 2026, and continues through May 28, 2027, offering a consistent 35-hour workweek in one school location within the Northwest area of the district. Enthusiastic educators with a deep commitment to individualized instruction and student success will thrive in this role.

What Youll Bring:

  • Active Florida ESE certification and K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification
  • Proven experience leading a self-contained ESE classroom; strong understanding of diverse learning needs and exceptionalities
  • Successful completion of the Florida fingerprinting process, including verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse or willingness to update as needed
  • Preparedness to complete a virtual prescreen internal eligibility interview
  • Flexibility to serve primarily elementary grades, while preferences for other age groups may be considered
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead a self-contained classroom, delivering differentiated instruction to students with varying learning abilities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages growth, engagement, and achievement for every student
  • Engage with parents, support staff, and faculty to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in relevant team meetings and professional development
  • Uphold all district and state compliance standards related to special education
