Job Description

A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available for the fall semester at an elementary school in Mount Holly, NJ. This position is a contract leave role supporting a 1st grade classrooms in-class resource room. The assignment runs from late August through early November, providing hands-on experience working with young learners who benefit from specialized instructional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for 1st grade students in a resource room setting
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support personnel to tailor academic activities and promote student engagement
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records documenting educational outcomes and behavior
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey Special Education teaching licensure strongly preferred
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly within resource room or co-teaching models
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including paraprofessionals, behavioral technicians, or nursing staff provided for supervision
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
