Job Description
This position calls for a Special Education Teacher to support a middle school setting with a caseload of approximately 16 students. Serving full-time under a contract for the current school year (CSY), this role is based in Winnsboro, SC, at a STEM-focused institute dedicated to innovative education. The district provides supervision through support staff such as paraprofessionals or licensed personnel to assist in daily classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to middle school students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with support staff and general education teachers to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to facilitate optimal learning outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with South Carolina SPED licensure requirements and district policies.
- Participate in onsite interviews and onboarding processes, including any fingerprinting or mandatory district training.
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching license.
- Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting.
- Ability to manage and engage a caseload of approximately 16 students.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educators and support personnel.
- Willingness to work onsite in Winnsboro, SC, and adhere to district-specific onboarding procedures.
