Job Description

A Special Education Teacher position is available for the academic year, serving students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This contract role offers a full-time schedule ranging from 35 to 40 hours per week. Assignments include resource rooms and self-contained classrooms for various special education needs, including learning disabilities and emotional disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other special education needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with district guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and modify teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with school staff and support personnel to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district policies.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license.
  • Teaching certificate with endorsement in Learning Disabilities or Multicategorical Special Education.
  • Experience working with students in elementary, middle, or high school self-contained or resource settings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an educational team.

Location:

  • Schools located within the West Columbia area of South Carolina.
