Job Description

A Special Education Teacher is needed for the 2025-2026 school year in a K-12 school located in Ionia, MI. This contract position starts ASAP and runs through May 2026, offering the opportunity to work with elementary, middle, and high school caseloads. The role requires managing a self-contained classroom with students who may exhibit a range of behaviors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with emotional impairments or autism.
  • Providing specialized instruction tailored to meet the academic and behavioral needs of students.
  • Collaborating with staff, parents, and related service providers to support student growth.
  • Maintaining documentation and tracking student progress throughout the school year.

Desired qualifications:

  • Certification in Emotional Impairments or an Autism endorsement is required.
  • Experience working with K-12 students in self-contained special education settings.
  • Strong behavior management skills and the ability to address a variety of student needs.
  • Flexibility to participate in both in-person and virtual interviews.
