A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Indianapolis, IN, specializing in Life Skills within a self-contained K-2 classroom setting. This contract role involves supporting students with special needs by delivering tailored educational programs that foster their growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a self-contained classroom for students in grades K-2 with life skills needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Assess students progress and adapt instructional approaches accordingly
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and staff to support student success
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification in Special Education
- Experience working with early elementary-aged students in special education settings
- Familiarity with developing and managing IEPs
