Desired Skills & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (appropriate to grade level and subject assigned)
- Experience creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Solid understanding of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability, patience, and genuine passion for supporting students with exceptionalities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students IEP goals, adapting materials for individual learning needs
- Assess abilities and progress, utilizing data to inform instruction and report on student achievements
- Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers to support inclusive practices
- Maintain accurate records and comply with federal and state regulations regarding special education policies and documentation
- Engage families in the educational process, providing updates and strategies for student success
- Foster a positive, structured, and welcoming classroom environment
