As a Special Education Teacher specializing in autism support, youll provide individualized instruction and foster a welcoming learning environment that encourages every student to thrive. This role is ideal for educators who value collaboration, creativity, and a student-centered approach.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification and credentials, or eligibility to obtain them
- Demonstrated experience teaching students with autism at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create adapted instructional materials and use evidence-based strategies
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with autism
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust approaches as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure coordinated care
- Create a positive classroom climate that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings
