Qualifications:
- Current and active Special Education Teaching License issued by the state of Michigan
- Experience working with students in elementary, middle, or high school preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for working within diverse educational teams
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet individual student needs
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Provide direct instruction and academic support in a resource or classroom setting
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, interdisciplinary team discussions, and professional development opportunities
- Foster positive, encouraging relationships with students to support their emotional and social development
