Make an impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher supporting a self-contained high school classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers you the chance to start immediately and continue through May 2026, working closely with students who experience severe cognitive impairments. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience supporting students with severe cognitive impairments preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
- Familiarity with delivering differentiated instruction in a self-contained classroom
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to create a supportive and structured classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to high school students in a self-contained special education classroom
- Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching techniques to meet the individual needs of each student
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and general education staff
- Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes student learning and independence
