Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students in a self-contained, onsite special education setting near Howell, MI. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about empowering children with ASD through personalized instruction and collaborative care.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction utilizing evidence-based practices for students with autism spectrum disorder.
- Create and maintain a structured classroom environment that supports communication, behavior, and sensory processing needs.
- Utilize thorough data collection and progress monitoring systems to inform ongoing instruction and targeted interventions.
- Work closely with special education team members, general education faculty, therapists, and families to deliver comprehensive support.
- Implement effective behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior supports to promote student success.
- Encourage the development of communication, social abilities, and life skills essential for student growth.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and district regulations for special education.
Desired qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
- Strong background in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.
- Exceptional skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
