Job Description
A full-time, onsite opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher at the elementary level, working within a self-contained classroom setting. This role focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through individualized education programs (IEPs) and evidence-based instructional practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs customized to each student's unique needs.
- Deliver differentiated instruction designed to support students with ASD.
- Create a structured classroom environment that addresses communication, behavioral, and sensory requirements.
- Utilize data collection and progress monitoring to guide instruction and interventions.
- Collaborate effectively with special education staff, general education teachers, therapists, and families.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) alongside positive behavior supports.
- Facilitate development of students communication, social, and life skills.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding special education.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
- Strong knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
