Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification with experience in adapted physical education or related fields
- Proven ability to develop and implement lesson plans based on IEP requirements
- Strong skills in due process documentation and case management
- Effective team collaborator, comfortable working with various staff, families, and specialists
- Familiarity with best practices for supporting students with diverse abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead engaging day-to-day gym activities tailored to the unique strengths and goals of each student
- Maintain up-to-date due process records and ensure compliance with district and state requirements
- Collaborate regularly with the districts DAPE team to continuously improve programming and student outcomes
- Teach two back-to-back classes daily at the high school site
- Support elementary students two days each week, providing direct instruction and intervention
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment in all settings
