Make a difference in students lives by supporting high school learners at an Alternative Learning Center near Hopkins, MN. This contract opportunity is tailored for dynamic special educators passionate about individualized, impactful teaching. As a part-time Special Education Teacher (approximately 18.7520 hours per week), youll contribute to helping students with diverse academic and behavioral needs reach graduation goals through both onsite and blended instruction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (ABS, EBD, LD, or a related MN SPED endorsement)
- Previous experience working with high school-aged youth, preferably in alternative or special education environments
- Proficient in delivering differentiated instruction and modifications for students with a range of learning and behavioral challenges
- Strong collaborative skillsready to work closely with instructional teams, counselors, and support staff
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specially designed instruction for students pursuing alternative pathways to graduation
- Create and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that supports social, emotional, and academic growth
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best practices and cohesive supports for each student
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations and documentation
